Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on the 19th of January. 19. 1946 to a humble family of 12 children later on, realized early that she could get away from the hardships of her life by using a imaginative mind. Porter Wagoner began looking for women to sing for his TV show syndicated by a network at approximately the same time. Parton was hired in the year 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. However, it wasn't until 1974 that she decided to leave Wagoner's program as the popularity of her own solo records like Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene had outstripped their collaborative efforts.
