Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Born in Winnipeg and brought up in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11 which made her the second-youngest winner at the age of 11 in Oscar history. Canadian actor and New Zealander who as a child received her first Academy Award in 1993 for the top support actress. She was the fiery daughter of Holly Hunter's role in The Piano. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of an mute Scottish pianist, who in the late 19th century relocates back to New Zealand for an arranged marriage when she responded to an open audition when she was just nine years older and had no previous acting experience. As a teenager her family relocated from New Zealand to United States. Paquin had the role of lead in Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance in Jane Eyre in the film when she was an infant. Paquin was a part-time actress in the 1997 television film remake of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad, she played the Spanish queen in a minor role. In addition, she was a teenager in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) as well as Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character Polexia Aphrodisa.
